Gardens

I like all seasons of gardens but I think I like spring gardens best.

Since our yard is more slope than flat, gardening is a challenge. But it's also inspiring. And since we have nearly unlimited rocks around the property, the landscaping possibilities are endless. When we moved here in '97 the yard held two apple trees, a string of half-dead globe arborvitae, a copious amount of 'weed trees' like box elder and buck-thorn, and weeds, weeds and weeds. The only 'yard' we had was the flatter area immediately around the house.
I began by clearing out parts the unwanted growth, starting closest to the house and gradually moving further out each year.

This was taken back when Rosie still followed me around the yard as I was working.

I will post more pictures later. I have dozens :)
